Welcome to The Pen Pivot!

At 9am (EST) every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we show content creators how to use AI to produce better content, faster.

In today’s email:

  • AI Tool Of The Day 🛠️ - Summarize YouTube videos (without having to watch them).

  • AI Content Tip Of The Day🖋️ - Use ChatGPT to generate content ideas…from your old pieces of content.

  • AI News For Content Creators đź“°- Photoshop now lets you manipulate photos with text

  • Viral Bits From The Web 🍬 - A Reddit user wanted to see a world where power structures were reversed.

AI Tool Of The Day 🛠️

Eightify - A Chrome extension that summarizes YouTube videos for you.

While I do spend an obscene amount of time on YouTube, it’s hard to deny that it can be a time suck.

This is especially true when using it for research.

Eightify is a Chrome extension that gives you a bulleted summary of a YouTube video’s content, so you don’t have to watch the whole thing.

Try it out.

ChatGPT Prompt: Multiply Your Content Ideas

Running out of content ideas?

Chances are, they’re right under your nose.

You’re about to learn how to use ChatGPT to generate dozens of content ideas from one piece of content you’ve already made.

I call it the “micro-insights framework”.

Here are the cliff notes:

  • An existing piece of your content is likely to have a bunch of smaller tangential insights.

  • These insights aren’t usually immediately obvious.

  • ChatGPT can be used to quickly extract these insights.

  • The insights can be fleshed out into separate pieces of content altogether.

Here’s what you do.

Copy and paste a piece of your content into the prompt template below.

If your content is too long, just copy and paste an information-packed extract from the piece.

ChatGPT will then take the content and extract a bulleted list of other ideas for content.

The Prompt Template 🤖:

"As a content creator, I aim to use AI tools like you, ChatGPT, to unlock hidden value from my existing content by extracting “micro insights”

Micro insights are concise, bullet-pointed pieces of information or perspectives extracted from larger content, each representing a potential seed for further exploration or content creation.

Please extract such insights from this piece of content I've written on [insert topic or theme].

The micro insights should [insert desired characteristics of insights, e.g., offer fresh perspectives, delve deeper into certain points, suggest new content ideas].

Please use the following information to help you generate these insights.

The content I want you to extract micro-insights from:

--------------------------

[Copy and paste content]

--------------------------

Topic or theme of my content: [insert]

Target audience for my content: [insert]

Tone or style of my content: [insert, e.g., informative, persuasive, conversational]

Example 💻️ :

Here's an example.

I used ChatGPT and the micro-insights framework to generate content ideas from a previous issue of my newsletter.

In this issue, I taught subscribers how to use ChatGPT and the Pareto Principle to learn anything 5 x faster.

Here are the micro-insights and additional content ideas generated by ChatGPT:

Zoom in if you have to.

As you can see, a single piece of content has turned into a bunch of other ideas.

I can then ask ChatGPT to elaborate on the ones I like.

The beauty of this framework is that it recycles content I've already written.

So I won't always be hunting for new and fresh angles.

Try it out for yourself.

Find a piece of content you’ve made and see how many micro-insights you can generate from it.

Adobe Photoshop Lets You Manipulate Photos With Text

Adobe has added a Firefly-powered tool called “Generative Fill” to its Photoshop beta.

It lets you fill selected areas of an image with AI-generated content based on a text description you supply.

Adobe’s family of generative AI models - Firefly - has been trained on a huge number of Adobe’s stock libraries to associate images with text descriptions.

With such an obscenely large dataset, it’s hard to see how other design AI tools are going to keep up.

Full story here.

Viral Bits From The Web 🍬

A Reddit user asked ChatGPT to describe a world where the power structures are reversed:

  • Nature holds the most power, not humans.

  • Borders fade.

  • Corporations serve the community.

The text produced by ChatGPT was used to create corresponding images.

The image series went on to set Reddit alight.

Check it out here.

And that’s all for today!

See you on Wednesday 🙂
