EIGHTIFY

(Not sponsored)

Eightify is an AI Chrome extension with a single purpose:

Summarizing YouTube videos.

This feature is surprisingly useful for creators.

Here’s why:

YouTube is a reservoir of knowledge.

Many creators use YouTube videos as a source of research.

Yep, no matter what type of content they might create.

Whenever I write about a new topic, I try to find a few videos on it to boost my knowledge.

But here’s the problem.

Watching an entire video is time-consuming.

Don’t get me wrong - I love watching YouTube videos for entertainment.

But when I’m working and creating content, I need the info fast.

Sometimes, I get to the 12-minute mark and realize the video didn’t have what I needed in the first place.

Eightify solves that very real problem for me.

Let me show you how to get started.

đź’¨ Quickstart Guide

Download and install the Chrome extension - it should only take a few minutes.

2. Open up a YouTube video

It’ll ask you to sign in.

You’ll see Eightify’s orange section at the top of the recommendations sidebar.

It’ll automatically analyze the “Key Insights” of the video for you.

Click the “Summary” tab for a more in-depth overview.

You’ve got the option of expanding each section if you want more detail.

Use Cases For Creators ⚒️

🎥 Efficient Research: Quickly gather insights and key points from YouTube videos to streamline your research process.

📝 Content Inspiration: Discover new ideas, quotes, and references from video summaries to fuel your creative process.

🔍 Content Curation: Curate relevant video content for newsletters, roundups, or curated lists by leveraging the summaries.

🕵️‍♂️ Competitive Analysis: Analyze your competitors' video content (without having to watch it).

Limitations

  • AI-generated summaries from tools like Eightify won’t capture some of the nuanced details of the original visual content.

  • The tool won’t always accurately reflect the intended meaning or context of the original videos. I try to see it as surface-level analysis and nothing more.

  • I would have liked to have some control over the output. There’s no customization possible.

Pricing 💰️

  • Free: Five free summaries on installation and three more each week. Limited to videos less than 30 minutes.

  • Paid: $4.99/month (paid annually) or $9.99/month (paid monthly). Unlimited summaries, any video length, and priority support.

STORYTELLING ON DEMAND

Most creators know they should use storytelling in their content.

Very few actually do.

Why?

Because it’s tough to get right.

Ultimately, storytelling is the quickest way to come across as relatable and authentic to an audience.

The beauty of it is that it doesn’t take much extra work.

Here’s a ChatGPT prompt that will generate suggestions for incorporating storytelling into a piece of your content.

As my Content Strategist and Storytelling Expert, I need you to help me incorporate storytelling elements into my content piece. I want to engage my audience more effectively and make my content more relatable and memorable. Here's what you need to know about my content piece:

Content Type: [eg. blog post, video script]

Main Topic or Theme: [eg. yoga for beginners, sustainable living, coding for kids]

Key Message or Lesson: [eg. importance of regular practice, benefits of recycling, coding is fun]

Target Audience: [eg. young adults interested in fitness, eco-conscious consumers, parents of school-age kids]

Using this information, please generate a list of 7 storytelling suggestions, each with a concise example of implementation.

And that’s all for today!

See you on Monday 🙂
