1. Go to http://minicoursegenerator.com

Click “Try for Free” and set up an account. No card details needed (always a win).

2. Click “Create A Mini-Course”

Choose from the following options:

The main point here is that you don’t have to use their AI assistant to create the course.

You can create it yourself if you want to or use one of their use-case templates.

But for the purposes of this guide, we’ll be using AI 🙂 

3. Enter the course details

As an example, I created a somewhat meta minicourse.

Here are the instructions I gave the AI assistant:

• Create a minicourse about how businesses can use minicourses to generate more leads

• Minicourse Title - “Generate More Leads With Minicourse Marketing”

4. Review the course outline

It then gave me an example course outline with subheadings.

You’ve got the option of changing the order of the subheadings and also the subheadings themselves.

You then set the appearance - choose a color theme that’s ideally in line with your branding.

5. Set the access

This step is important.

Decide what a reader needs to do to get access to the course:

• No gateway - anyone can access.

• Sign-up wall - email address is required (my favorite).

• Password protection - useful if you’re only offering it to a select group or community.

• Paywall - accept payments.

6. Edit the course

The initial course it generates will look pretty simple.

A series of learning cards with blocks of text.

The content will be there, but it won’t be formatted very well.

Here, you’ve got the option of editing it to your desire.

I like to use the in-built AI editor (red arrow in the image below) to rephrase, rewrite, shorten, or summarize.

Quick note: If you aren’t on a paid plan, you’ll quickly run out of AI credits and will have to edit the text manually.

You’ve also got the option of changing the colors, adding links, and adding images.

7. Review and share your course

Once you’ve edited it, click “View” in the top right corner.

If you’re happy with it, click “Share” and copy the link to your clipboard.

Share this link anywhere you’d like.

Social media platforms, website pop-ups, etc.

Use the minicourse to collect email addresses and widen your reach.

Here’s an unedited version of the minicourse I asked it to create.

I didn’t put a sign-up wall on it, so you don’t need to input your email address to view it.

It’ll look a lot better once I’ve broken up the text, added some color, and added some images.

Limitations

• I do wish the initial unedited course that’s generated would look a little better. Even just breaking the blocks of text would make it more pleasing to the eye.

• The text generated can look a little ChatGPT-esque at times; repetition and wordiness. I like to run the text through Grammarly and Hemingway to make it sound more human.
