One of the fastest ways to sound like you really understand your audience?
Name the trap they’re stuck in.
Not just explain the mistake.
Name it.
Own it.
Make it feel real.
Because the moment you give it a name, the fog lifts.
Your audience sees themselves in it.
And suddenly you’re not just sharing advice. You’re giving them language.
They’ll start using the name.
Sharing it with friends.
Saying “this is literally me.”
It’s not just content. It’s recognition.
Random example:
If you help freelancers avoid burnout, you might call the problem you solve The Productivity Guilt Loop.
That moment when they work all day, still feel behind, then push harder until they crash.
Give it a name, and now they finally get what’s been slowing them down.
And it sticks.
So here’s a prompt that helps you come up with your own:
💬 The “Name The Trap” Content Idea Generator
What it’s for: Helping you spot a subtle but dangerous mistake your audience is making…then brand it as a trap they need to avoid.
How to use it: Fill in your niche, audience, and content type. Then paste into ChatGPT.
I'm a content creator in the [insert niche] niche, targeting [insert audience].
I want to create a [insert content type, e.g., reel, blog post, email] that warns my audience about a common trap they’re falling into — something subtle but harmful.
Please help me:
– Identify 3–5 specific traps that are easy to fall into in my niche
– Give each one a name or metaphor that makes it memorable (e.g. “The Hustle Hamster Wheel”, “The Overdeliver Trap”)
– Explain how the trap shows up, why it’s dangerous, and what to do instead
At the end, ask: “Would you like a full content outline for any of these?”
P.S. In my “12 AI Writing Power-Ups” live online workshop, we’ll cover the exact psychology-driven levers that’ll make your writing more likely to get clicks, leads, and sales…and how to use my “Power Editor GPT” to make those changes for you in seconds.
Lifetime access to the recording is included.
Sign-ups close in 48 hours.
Until next time.
Cheers.
