AI Content Tip Of The Day 🖋️

ChatGPT Prompt: “Six Thinking Hats”

The “Six Thinking Hats” method is used in a wide range of industries.

It’s a versatile tool for problem-solving, decision-making, and brainstorming.

A comprehensive approach to any issue.

It encourages looking at a task from multiple perspectives, promoting:

  • Clarity

  • Creativity

  • Thoroughness

Yes, I use the Six Thinking Hats method for content creation and ChatGPT supercharges the process for me.

When I’m creating a pillar piece of content, I need to make sure it’s the most thorough resource available to an audience.

The method forces me to try on different “hats”, with each hat color representing a different perspective.

So, let’s dig in…

Picture a hat rack with six different hats.

The Six Thinking Hats method is like trying on each of these hats one by one.

Each color represents a different perspective.

  • The White Hat is for facts and information, like a scientist.

  • The Red Hat focuses on emotions and feelings - it's your heart speaking.

  • The Black Hat is for critical judgment, your inner skeptic.

  • The Yellow Hat is your sunny-side-up, looking at positives and benefits.

  • The Green Hat is for creative, out-of-the-box thinking, like an artist.

  • The Blue Hat is your project manager, controlling the process.

OK great - but how can ChatGPT help?

ChatGPT can be used to prepare and research a piece of content using the Six Thinking Hats method.

Here’s the prompt template to use:

The Prompt Template 🤖:

"ChatGPT, I'm preparing to create a piece of content and I want you to generate a cheat sheet that uses the Six Thinking Hats approach to break down the content. I’ll then use this cheat sheet as research for the content.

Who I am: [insert a brief summary of the type of content you create]

Content type and topic: [e.g. blog post, video, podcast, and the topic]

Target audience: [insert demographic information or specific characteristics of your intended audience]

Based on these inputs, could you provide a breakdown for each of the Six Thinking Hats that I can use as a cheat sheet for creating the piece of content?”

Example 💻️ :

I asked ChatGPT to create a Six Thinking Hats cheat sheet for a YouTube video in the indoor plant niche titled “A Beginner’s Guide To Swiss Cheese Plant Care”.

Zoom in if you have to.

Sure, you could ask ChatGPT to elaborate on each of the “hats”.

But its main purpose should be to get your ideas flowing.

As you can see, if you were to follow the general outline and strategy of a cheat sheet like the one above, you’d be left with an extremely engaging piece of content.

Try it out.

Enjoy.
