The 'what now' moments

Most content is too helpful to be useful.

In chaos, ‘do this first’ beats ‘here’s how it works.’

Before I go on:

My live online workshop — “The 3-Minute Lead Magnet” — is happening soon. Early bird pricing ends in 24 hours. Save your spot here before it does.

A friend of mine works at a big accountancy firm.

Endless procedures. Laminated signs. Beige everything.

One Thursday afternoon, they did a fire drill.

Alarm blaring. Managers checking manuals. People freezing mid-meeting.

It was a mess.

Until the receptionist — not the manager, not the fire marshal — grabbed a megaphone.

No rambling. No mumbling. Just:

“West exit only. Phones off. Line up.”

And people moved.

Not because she had a title.

Not because she was “the boss”.

Because she had a clear next step.

It nailed something I see creators miss all the time:

Your audience often doesn’t need depth.

They need direction in their “what now” moments.

Moments when they’re stuck, overwhelmed, or panic-scrolling for answers.

In those moments, your content — whether it’s a post, lead magnet, or email — needs to act like a fire drill voice:

“Here. Do these things first.”

Not “here’s everything I know.”

Not “here’s the full history of the problem.”

Just a short, specific set of actions to give them instant relief.

That’s what builds trust fast.
